Breast Uplift

A breast lift (mastoplexy) is a surgical technique, consisting of lifting and improving the existing shape of the breast. Pregnancy and the natural ageing process often affect the firmness of the breast; mastoplexy is an ideal technique to reverse this process. The operation can be combined with a breast augmentation, to achieve the best result for you.
This surgical process is usually performed under general anaesthetic and lasts no more than 2-3 hours. In most cases, a circular incision is made around the areola, along with a vertical incision to the area under the breast. This type of incision heals very quickly and is seldom visible, as it is covered by the breast. Your surgeon will decide the most appropriate form of treatment.
A breast lift is often used to provide additional volume and firmness to the breast. Sometimes your surgeon may advise an implant in combination with your uplift to add volume and firmness, in this case, an augmentation will be performed at the same time as your uplift.
After the operation, a dressing is applied, any discomfort is likely to be moderate and will disappear in due course. For the first few days, the patient will experience tightness and discomfort in the breast, but should be able to resume everyday activities within three to four weeks. We recommend the use of a special support bra for the first couple of months, and exercise, fast movements or lifting heavy objects should be avoided.
